We are a Robotics Team. We accomplish our goals by openly discussing our ideas, sharing in the immense workload, and planning wisely. We recognize that each individual brings a different and highly valued perspective to the team. We may be a small team, but we are mighty. Every member and mentor contributes to the well-being and development of the team, from teaching a new student how to use the drill press to fostering a positive atmosphere.

Learning and risk management
Each and every one of us have all made mistakes. Whether a broken drill bit or crashed computer, our mistakes are what teach us valuable lessons. Our team takes steps each day to minimize the damage of our mistakes, and lower the risk of repeating mistakes. Spartan Robotics fosters an innovative environment for students by focusing on learning and problem solving. Each new obstacle is approached with maximum effort and an open mind for the sake of developing the knowledge of the team.

Nobody said it was easy, but time is never wasted. Hard work is put in every day. Students and mentors surely put in the time, but it is wisely managed to maximize productivity. From the early planning days to our final round of competition, there is no wasted effort; tasks are completed every day which make us just a little bit further in total progress. We are proud of our hard work, and we are proud to be a part of such a productive environment.

Our students are our greatest assets. No robotics or engineering experience is required to join our team, and we are happy to welcome new students and teach them what we have learned and what was taught to us. No member goes unguided; we allow students to pick their field of concentration within the team. Every member gets a chance to try what interests them.

No one told us we had to be here. We want to be here; above all, our students participate because they are passionate about their specific field, along with robotics as a whole. Being on the Robotics Team is an extracurricular activity, meaning it is a commitment in addition to already-intensive schoolwork. Our members put in the time and effort, and we are sure to remember to have fun every now and then at work sessions and competition!
